The beauty of this board is that you can make it sound the way you like by including/excluding layers of foam. Thocky, clacky, creamy, poppy, marbly - it could be any of those depending on the way you configure it!

Thank you!! The sound is going to be a bit different between the pro and non-pro versions after lubing and filming, but the difference may be quite minimal. Out of the box, the pro versions are smoother than the original, but if you're going to open them up and lube them anyway, the difference in smoothness between the two is going to be negligible. I would suggest the pros if you don't want to lube them and the original cream yellows if you are going to lube them anyway!

It's a preference thing, but put simply: some people enjoy the softer typing feel of flex-cut while others enjoy the sound and rigidness of non flex-cut. I personally enjoy non flex-cut options more because I find flex-cut PCBs often need too much foam to have decent sound. Thanks for dropping by 🌞

If it's on a different keyboard, it's going to sound different! Factors like foam, case material, plate material, mounting style, etc. factor in heavily on top of the switch and keycap factors!

I think it really depends on what you are looking for - I would put them both at par with each other. You're not going to have issues with sound for either. -The QK65v2 Classic has slimmer design with straighter edges, while Zoom65 v3 has that signature Zoom contour at the back of the keyboard. -If you're looking for customizability, the Zoom65 v3 has more configurations that you can play around with the 7 mounting systems and multiple potential add-on modules. -If you're looking for simplicity, QK65v2 Classic offers that with a sleeeek case design (I love the way the bottom case shows at the front of the keyboard) with just a handful of customization options that are all executed well. Sorry I don't have a definitive answer for you, but hope this helps! Let me know if you have other questions about the two 🌞

If you enjoy the maglev mount without foam, I would suggest opting for the 1.6mm non-flex PCB and sticking with no foam/minimal foam. That's going to be a better sounding no foam/little foam build in my mind.

Those are my thoughts exactly! Unlubed POM switches can feel quite sandy, but I think they did a great job with the factory lube! So smoooooooth 😌

It is a shame that the standard keyboard now is not as well built as those in the 80s. But keeping in mind inflation, the keyboards from back then were actually not that affordable (probably $600-$700 in today's dollar). Thank you for watching 🌞
